EMBRYO (Layer House, Kranj, Slovenia, 2017, solo exhibition)

/Platonik/ is a collection of 5 illustrations for which I found inspiration in 5 geometric (platonic) elements and EMBRYO is based on this illustrations. The name of the exhibition comes from the word Embroidery and the word Embryo that symbolises the fact that I used  a new technique for the first time, that is a combination of embroidery and screen printing. I worked very structured but at the same time I have left myself enough freedom to experiment.

I also printed two long sleeve pink t-shirts for the exhibition. One with a match and another with a scorpion. Not visible on the photos is the detail from front of the sweaters and t-shirts. The first ones have the caption PLATONIK on the right side and others have lovers on the left side. You know ‘coz heart is on the left.

P.S. All three sweaters were stolen less than a month after the exhibition. Well, that’s life. I’m OK now.

Authors: Evgen Čopi Gorišek, Gašper Kunšič, Helena Tahir, Orel Irena, Ivana Bajec, Jan Pogorelec, Luka Šeme, Martin Mejak x Nez Pez, Matevž Sterle, Meta Šolar, Milica Golubović, Nataša Sersen Popović, Nevena Aleksovski, Rok Kleva Ivančić, Simon Kocjancic, Sretan Bor, Stipan Tadic, Tinka Leskovsek, Pirate Piška, Katarina Goltez

//The special feature of the Biennial of Independent Illustration is that the authors inherit the selection of a new author of their choice two years later and in this way the quality of production is independently co-created by an independent illustration profession, that is, the authors themselves.//

I printed 5 screen prints in two colors for the Biennale and I was inspired from past collection called /Platonik/. I made a reconstruction of an already existing illustrations, I extracted what I thought was important, I left out what I wanted to get rid of and added what layed in me. Thus, new silk screen prints were created.

Little Dude Mission 3 (London, UK, 2015, group exhibition and book presentation)
Little Dude Mission 2 (Berlin, Germany, 2014, group exhibition and book presentation)

Little Dude is a charity project that invites artists from all over the world to create a Little Dude. Everyone had the same template but we all made different ones and there was no limit to the creation.

All the products were presented in the book along with their individual stories written by their loving parents. My Little Dude named Jack Jr. (2015) was also on the cover of the book. Exhibition is followed by an auction and the proceeds went to selected charities. That’s how 100 little men helped to save the world.

DOUM: Process (Centralna Postaja, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2014, group exhibition)

The invitation to this exhibition came almost simultaneously as making the Ghostwood (Fox Wolf Bear) collection of screen printed t-shirts and the title of the DOUM Exhibition: The process was incredibly coincidental with my blogpost about making this Ghostwood collection.

At the moment I wanted exactly to show the world an insight of the things I do! I hope that people have read the posts I have attached to each product because they all say handmade or hand embroidered or hand painted, or, -well, everything was made with hands.

My concept was to present the entire Ghostwood collection, from sketches, illustrations, t-shirts, prints, stickers to new products. I hand embroidered golden details to the Fox sweater and hand painted three mini skateboards especially for the exhibition.
